GenieBuilder

GenieBuilder is a standalone desktop application for AI-assisted development workflows. It combines multi-tab chat, a built-in code editor, visual workflow automation, and MCP-backed task tooling in one workspace.

What makes it different​

  • It is not tied to a single IDE.
  • Chat, file access, editor tabs, and task workflows share one runtime.
  • The main process owns provider orchestration, MCP tool routing, and approval gates.
  • Local and hosted LLMs fit into the same interface through a unified provider system.

Core workflow​

  1. Open a project workspace.
  2. Review or edit Backlog tasks in the right panel.
  3. Open files in the built-in code editor.
  4. Start one or more chat tabs with different providers or models.
  5. Approve mutating MCP actions when the agent needs to change task or file state.
