This Privacy Policy explains how GenieBuilder ("the Software") handles your data. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our data practices.

2. Data Collection​

GenieBuilder is a desktop application that runs locally on your machine. We collect minimal data:

• Anonymous usage analytics: Basic, anonymous usage statistics (e.g., feature usage counts, error reports) may be collected to improve the Software. This can be reviewed during onboarding.
• No personal data: We do not collect names, email addresses, or other personally identifiable information through the Software itself.

3. Local Data Storage​

All project data, chat history, settings, and preferences are stored locally on your device. GenieBuilder does not transmit your project files or code to our servers.

4. Third-Party AI Providers​

When you use AI features, your prompts and context are sent directly to the AI provider you have configured (e.g., Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, Ollama). GenieBuilder acts as a client — data flows directly between your machine and the provider. Please review the privacy policies of your chosen AI provider:

Local providers (Ollama, LM Studio) process data entirely on your machine.

5. Data Security​

We take reasonable measures to ensure the security of the Software. API keys are stored in your operating system's secure credential storage (Keychain on macOS, Credential Manager on Windows, Secret Service on Linux).

6. Children's Privacy​

GenieBuilder is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

7. Changes to This Policy​

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
