Installation

BETA Release

GenieBuilder is currently in BETA and will expire on June 1st, 2026. After this date, the application will no longer function. A new version will be available before the expiration date.

GenieBuilder is a cross-platform desktop application available for macOS, Windows, and Linux.

System Requirements

macOS

  • OS: macOS 12.0 (Monterey) or later
  • Processor: Apple Silicon (M1/M2/M3/M4)
  • RAM: 8GB minimum, 16GB recommended
  • Storage: 500MB free space

Windows

  • OS: Windows 10 or later (x64)
  • RAM: 8GB minimum, 16GB recommended
  • Storage: 500MB free space

Linux

  • OS: Ubuntu 20.04+, Fedora 36+, or compatible x64 distribution
  • RAM: 8GB minimum, 16GB recommended
  • Storage: 500MB free space

Download

  1. Visit the releases page: geniebuilder.ai/releases
  2. The page will detect your operating system and offer the recommended download
  3. Click More download options to see all available platforms

Install

macOS

  1. Open the downloaded .dmg file
  2. Drag the GenieBuilder app into your Applications folder
  3. Eject the DMG disk image
  4. Open GenieBuilder from your Applications folder or Launchpad

Windows

  1. Run the downloaded .exe installer
  2. Follow the installation wizard
  3. Launch GenieBuilder from the Start menu or desktop shortcut

Linux

  1. Make the AppImage executable: chmod +x GenieBuilder-*.AppImage
  2. Run it: ./GenieBuilder-*.AppImage
tip

You can integrate the AppImage with your desktop environment using AppImageLauncher.

First Launch (macOS)

GenieBuilder is signed and notarized by Apple, so it should open without any warnings. If macOS still shows a security prompt, you can:

  1. Go to System SettingsPrivacy & Security
  2. Scroll down to the Security section
  3. Click Open Anyway next to the GenieBuilder message
  4. Confirm when prompted
